Chelsea to be without five players...

Chelsea could be without as many as five players when they face Ipswich. Romeo Lavia picked up an unspecified injury in training ahead of the Blues' win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

The 21-year-old midfielder has struggled to stay fit since swapping St. Mary's for Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago, making just three appearances this year. He faces another spell on the sidelines.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the west Londoners' trip to the Polish capital, Maresca said: "Hopefully we can get Romeo very soon. I don't know if for the next game, but he looks quite good in terms of he can be back soon."

There's hope that Lavia will return to action before the end of the season, but the same can't be said about Wesley Fofana. The 24-year-old defender has been forced to undergo surgery after suffering a hamstring injury; he will miss the remainder of the campaign.

Omari Kellyman also recently underwent surgery on a hamstring injury. The 19-year-old midfielder, who Chelsea signed from Aston Villa for £19m last summer, is still yet to make his first-team debut for the club.

Meanwhile, Marc Guiu looks set to return to action before the end of the campaign. On Wednesday, Maresca said: "Marc, we have good news from today that he looks quite good, much better, and he can be back before the season finishes."

Mykhailo Mudryk remains provisionally suspended from all football after failing a drug test in December. There has been no update on the 24-year-old winger since the end of last year.

Ipswich to be without six players...

Ipswich could be without as many as six players. Wes Burns suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a defeat against Liverpool at the start of the year, and he's expected to be out of action for a while.

Chiedozie Ogbene will also miss the remainder of the season as he continues to recover from surgery on an Achilles tear, which he sustained at the end of last year. Sammie Szmodics picked up an ankle injury at the start of the year, returning to the starting lineup in February.

The 29-year-old later underwent surgery on the issue, and he faces an uphill battle to be back before the end of the campaign. Last month, Arijanet Muric suffered a shoulder injury, with McKenna later confirming that the 26-year-old goalkeeper is seeing a specialist before taking the next step in his rehabilitation.

Omari Hutchinson and Ben Godfrey are doubts, with the former nursing a hamstring issue and the latter only recently returning to training. With Premier League status up for grabs, Ipswich will hope the duo are match fit.
