Alexander Isak to Arsenal transfer twist as unexpected £85m decision made

Arsenal continue to be linked with numerous high-profile names ahead of the summer transfer window opening. Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are expected to sanction several new signings after once again being denied the Premier League title.

The Swede could be the final piece of Mikel Arteta's puzzle but it is clear Arne Slot already has a group capable of winning the big titles. Both Salah and Van Dijk staying is a huge boost and it is also very clear he would go straight into their strongest starting XI.

That would also be the same at Emirates Stadium but Arteta may feel Arsenal have other priorities while also not wanting to get drawn into a bidding war. Viktor Gyokeres remains a perfectly credible alternative and it is still possible that Isak just remains at St James' Park.
