Arsenal continue to be linked with numerous high-profile names ahead of the summer transfer window opening. Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are expected to sanction several new signings after once again being denied the Premier League title.
Alexander Isak is doing that for Newcastle at the moment, and that is why he is being linked with a transfer to both Liverpool and Arsenal.
As Mohamed Salah has shown, it is also possible to contribute significantly from wider areas with an exciting attacking signing being looked at by the Gunners but also by four other Premier League teams. With that being said, has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Isak transfer debateFormer Premier League stars Rio Ferdinand and Peter Crouch have been discussing
Speaking on , Crouch said: "I'm biased obviously, but [if I was him] I'd go to Liverpool and if he goes there, I think there would be a period of dominance for the next two or three years with [Virgil] van Dijk and [Mohamed] Salah signing those deals.
"You get Isak as well, I don't think there's a club in the country that can compare to that."
Ferdinand added: "I don't know if Liverpool have got the capacity financially [to sign him]. I think he should go Madrid, I don't want to see this type of dominance [from Liverpool]."
football.london says: It does seem as though Anfield is perhaps the best destination for Isak if he wants to taste immediate success.
The Swede could be the final piece of Mikel Arteta's puzzle but it is clear Arne Slot already has a group capable of winning the big titles. Both Salah and Van Dijk staying is a huge boost and it is also very clear he would go straight into their strongest starting XI.
That would also be the same at Emirates Stadium but Arteta may feel Arsenal have other priorities while also not wanting to get drawn into a bidding war. Viktor Gyokeres remains a perfectly credible alternative and it is still possible that Isak just remains at St James' Park.
Arsenal among five clubs interested in YildizAccording to a report from , Chelsea are pushing to sign Kenan Yildiz from Juventus but face competition from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
They also claim he is valued at £85million (€100m) with Chelsea recently intensifying their efforts to sign him as they look to strengthen in attack.
football.london says: All five of those English heavyweights are interested in signing forwards this summer but spending a significant sum on a 19-year-old that is not Premier League proven would be a huge risk and potentially a foolish decision.
Arteta and Co. already know their targets with Nico Williams, Bryan Mbeumo and Kingsley Coman all fitting a number of requirements that the Gunners want. The Turkiye international is undoubtedly a huge talent for the future but such a big investment may not be the smart play right now.
Focus should also first be on signing a centre-forward and then central midfielder with a versatile attacking signing following that.
