Women looking for true love may do well to stay away from a man who looks like this. This AI-generated E-fit of a typical love rat was created from testimonies of lovers who had been cheated on.

Rather than drop-dead gorgeous, according to AI the average two-timer is thin on top, has a five o’clock shadow, a slightly enlarged nose, blue or grey eyes, small lips, unremarkable facial features, and is in his forties. The picture also shows he has frown lines – possibly from the worry of being a cad.

Researchers quizzed 2,000 women and found 35% said a partner had been unfaithful to them. Men with mullets are the least likely to stray, according to the survey by online bingo site MrQ. Just 17% of women said they were cheated on by a man with that hairstyle.

Nearly four in 10 women – 39% – said they dumped a love rate as soon as they found him out. Another 12 per cent dumped him a month after rumbling him, and another 14% gave him the elbow within three months.

Another 7% split six months afterwards, and 6% of couples limped on for a year, while 12% of women said they stayed with their unfaithful partner.

Rosie Maskell, of MrQ, said: “Between our survey and AI we’ve been able to shed light on the physical traits associated with those prone to straying. He is not flashy, particularly handsome and could be the man next door but our AI tools show he is the man to look out for when it comes to cheating on his partner.”

An earlier study found eight in 10 people “micro-cheat” on their partner on holiday, by doing things like rubbing suncream into a “pal’s” skin.
