Alex has been a controversial addition to the programme since his name was announced before the launch of the series last month. As the show returned to our screens on Monday evening, fans rushed to social media to share their concerns about the Birmingham-based contestant. One user said: "Alex is the poster boy for a narcissist. He is absolutely terrifying, I can feel his hostility and rage through the screen."
Another pointed out that she only argues with him in front of cameras, explaining: "Alex is terrifying man. holly is in absolute fear of him, she doesn’t wanna argue with him in private because she is SCARED. let her out." One viewer commented: "I totally understand Holly not wanting to confront Alex without cameras there. He is intimidating. He is abusive."
