Strictly star Kai Widdrington's rocky love life as ex Nadiya Bychkova makes shock remark

Kai Widdrington and may have gone their seperate ways in the summer after spending nearly two years together, but the mystery around their split is far from over.

The pair met on Strictly Come Dancing when Kai joined the show in 2021 and started secretly dating in 2022. And it's not the first time Kai Widdrington has been linked to one of his dance partners - here we take a look at his past love life.

While break-ups are never easy especially if you're in the spotlight, strictly pros Nadiya and are trying to keep their relationship amicable for the sake of working together. The two broke up in June after meeting on the show back in 2021 and dating for almost two years. Kai has had a tumultous love life - splitting from fellow dancer Giulia Dotta after five years in 2021 and has recently been linked to reality star Maura Higgins.

Kai and Nadiya looked like the perfect couple but Kai didn't open up about his romance with Nadiya until December 2023. "I just knew Nadiya was The One," he told Hello! Magazine. "She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, but the real beauty is not just what you see on the outside – it's the person on the inside I fell in love with." knowledge, the pair launched their first dance show together, Once Upon a Time. It led to another show called Behind the Magic that promised to give fans "a glimpse into the real-life couple's fairytale romance" which was aired in June this year.

When asked about their split at the Mirror's awards this week, Nadiya said: "We work together but we are not friends and that's ok. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I'm a professional." The professionals started dating in 2022 after falling in love on the competition but kept their relationship secret for a few months even wearing disguises out in public to avoid the media.

Kai certainly seems to have a thing for fellow dancers - before dating Nadiya he was in a five-year relationship with professional dancer and Dancing with the Stars professional, Giulia Dotta from 2016 until 2021. Friends and family were convinced they would settle down and have kids but the couple are thought to have parted ways on good terms. And while Kai is allegedly single at the moment he was linked to at the Pride of Britain Awards this week.

Despite Maura getting close to star and sharing a kiss, it appears that Kai, 29, also caught her attention. Onlookers spotted Kai placing his hand on Maura's arm while planting a kiss on the back of her head from behind. One moment also saw Maura, 33, tickle Kai's nose before he appeared to twirl her around.

But earlier on in the night though, Maura appeared to confirm her romance with Pete Wicks suggesting her flirting with Kai was platonic. Pete and Maura shared a sweet kiss in the Red Bar of London's Grosvenor House Hotel, where they partied until 1am, the revealed.
