Gandhinagar (Gujarat) April 12 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel honored two persons with the Ratnasinh Mahida Memorial Award in memory of the late Ratnasinghji Mahida, dedicated to the welfare of the prestigious social reformer, academics and tribals in Rajpipla in Narmada district.
This year, the Ratnasinh Mahida Memorial Award has been started for the first time and the first award was honored by Dr Madhukar, Vice -Chancellor of Birsamunda Tribal University and the first female tribal Vice -Chancellor of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, S. Prasanna was awarded.
CM Bhupendra Patel praised the service activities for tribal welfare and education of heavenly Ratn Singh Mahida, offering this pride.
He said that this award is a coincidence of this year of the celebration of the year of the birth anniversary of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda of the tribes. The Chief Minister also greeted his granddaughter Viraj Kumari Mahida while carrying out this inheritance of the late Ratna Singhji Mahida.
The Chief Minister said Ratnasinhji Mahida emphasized the need to bring tribals into the mainstream of the society, and started the service of education in Bharuch district in the year 1.
He operated about six educational institutions from Balwatika to college. His hard work created new opportunities for teaching for tribal and endless people. The dedication and relentless service work of the late Rat Singhji laid the foundation of the empowerment of tribal society throughout the region, resulting in a radical change in the lives of numerous people.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel offered the award for the consequential efforts for the welfare and prosperity of the tribals under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country.
In this regard, he said that with the increase of three times the tribal welfare budget, the Earth -based Public Village Utakar campaign has accelerated social infrastructure in 63 thousand villages.
CM Bhupendra Patel added that the state government has ensured the holistic upliftment of the tribal community in 53 talukas of 14 tribal districts in the direction of the Prime Minister in Gujarat too.
Birsa Munda Tribal University has been launched in Rajpipla under the inspiration of the Prime Minister to provide higher education for skill base, vocational, technical and tribal art and culture to the youth of the tribal area.
In this year's budget of the Tribal Development Department, only Rs 1 crore has been allocated for education schemes, he added.
The Chief Minister further said that this initiative will provide a new inspiration to the tribal upliftment to honor the tribal community with a reward of tribal people who contributed excellent contributions to various fields.
The first Memorial Award this year is also self. He expressed the confidence that two persons associated with the education service, which accelerated the efforts of Ratnasinhji's tribe, who will be more ignited in the tribal society, he expressed his confidence.
Speaking on the occasion, Bharuch's Mansukhbhai Vasava said that this is the holy land of Rajpipla. Rajpipla, once considered mini Kashmir, was also shooting Gujarati-Bhojpuri films. The Maharaja of the time has also been a lion to highlight the land of Rajpipla who also gave education to the tribal society in mind. Schools, colleges and other government offices in Bharuch district including Narmada are still running in the gifts from the Maharaja. Rajpipla Mini Vidyanagar was once a hub of education. From the basic education to many fields for awareness in tribal society, Ratnasinhji Mehida made invaluable contributions.
The Vice-Chancellor of Birsa Munda Tribal University-Rajpipla was honored with the award. Madhukar and Dr. Lakshi Shri of Andhra University-Vishakhapatnam also presented their responses.
Five special citizens who lived in Rajpipla and provided the best skills at the state and national level were also honored with the help of ONGC.
Bharuch MP Mansukhbhai Vasava, Nandod MLA Dr Darshanaben Deshmukh, granddaughter of late Ratna Singhji Mahida, Viraj Kumari Mahida, Rajpipla leader Manvendra Singh Gohil, actor and former MP Dr Nitish Bhardwaj, honors, dignified citizens, family members of the late Ratna Singhji Mahida, royal families and district administration officials were present.
