New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): A youth was stabbed, leading to his death, and two others were injured in the national capital after they were attacked by three people following an argument over refusal to give a bidi.
The incident occurred in the Pul Prahladpur area around 11 pm on April 21 in J Block, Prem Nagar, near the public toilet. A PCR call was received about the stabbing.
Upon reaching the scene, the police learnt that the injured had been shifted to ESI Hospital, Okhla.
The deceased, identified as Sohaib (21), a contractor by profession, succumbed to his injuries. His elder brother Mohsin (23), a whitewash painter, sustained critical injuries and was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. Their friend Akram also suffered injuries during the attack.
Initial investigations revealed that Sohaib was slapped by two men, Munna and Sunny, in a nearby park for refusing to give them a bidi. Sohaib returned home and informed his mother, Sabukta (55), who accompanied her two sons to confront the accused.
An argument escalated quickly, and during the scuffle, Munna and another accused, Imtiyaz, allegedly stabbed the victims multiple times. A police team reached the spot, and the area was inspected. The body of the deceased was later moved to the AIIMS Mortuary for post-mortem.
Based on the eyewitness's statement and medical reports, a case under sections 302, 307, and 34 of the IPC has been registered at PS Pul Prahladpur. All three accused--Firoz alias Munna (26), Imtiyaz (30), and Saudagar Khan alias Sunny (20)--have been arrested. Police have also recovered two blood-stained knives used in the crime.
