Nirmal (Telangana) [India], October 17 (ANI): A lorry transporting eight endangered crocodiles and other animals from Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna to Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru overturned near Mondigutta forest check post in Telangana's Nirmal district, police officials stated.
A case was registered against the driver for rash driving. The incident took place on Wednesday. The truck, carrying eight crocodiles, two white elephants, two tigers, and other animals, crashed into cement pillars and fell off the road into the wild after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The driver, Abdul Mannan Mandal, 51, lost control of the vehicle and collided with cement pillars on NH-44 road, causing the container lorry to overturn and sustain significant damage.
Nirmal district Superintendent of Police said, "On October 16 one lorry coming from Patna toward Bengaluru reached near Mondigutta forest check post at about 13:00 hrs. The driver drove the lorry container in a rash and negligent manner and hit the cement pillars on the NH-44 road. The container lorry overturned and was damaged."
According to the SP, a case was registered against the lorry driver Abdul Mannan Mandal (51 years) was registered. The case was registered under Section, 281 BNS of Mamada PS of Nirmal District against the driver who is resident of Sankpur, Gopal nagar, West Bengal.
Despite the accident, all the animals were safely rescued. (ANI)
