Akshay Kumar is on a roll with the success of Jolly LLB 3, where he stars alongside Arshad Warsi. While the film continues to impress audiences, Akshay recently made headlines for a very different reason, a story he shared during his appearance on the season 3 finale of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The actor revealed how he once left a film shoot midway to attend a private event that offered him Rs 20 lakh. Yes, you read it right!

Akshay Kumar reveals he once left shooting in midway. Here's why

During the finale episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, hosted by Kapil Sharma, Akshay Kumar was in top form. Known for his energetic personality and sharp humour, Akshay walked onto the set in a casual tracksuit. Before the conversation kicked off, he politely asked Kapil if he could take a moment to change clothes. When he returned moments later, Kapil joked that Akshay must have shot a quick advertisement backstage, setting the tone for an evening full of laughs and revelations.

Among the many stories shared, one particular incident stood out. Akshay revealed that during the shoot of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra, he received an offer to perform at a wedding. What's the catch? The event was happening at the same time as the film shoot. But when he heard they were willing to pay him Rs 20 lakh for just a few minutes of performance, he decided to go for it.

To make his quick escape from the set without raising eyebrows, Akshay pretended he wasn’t feeling well. He then arranged for his security guard to be ready with a motorcycle. Once he was clear, he hopped onto the bike, rode to the event, gave the performance, collected his cheque, and returned to the shoot, all without anyone on set suspecting much.

"Fatafat piche maine apne security guard ko ready rakha hua tha. Motorcycle li, uske piche baith gaya aur karte karte airport tak yaha baju mein fatafat show kiya, apna check liya aur waha se nikla…,” Akshay recalled with a smile. The shoot that day was being choreographed by Farah Khan and also featured Salman Khan.

During his appearance at Kapil Show, Akshay also took time to thank the stuntmen who have worked with him over the years, risking their lives for the action scenes that fans love. He expressed his gratitude for their hard work and said he owed much of his success to them.

On Akshay Kumar's personal and professional fronts

As for Akshay Kumar, stories like these only add to his legend, a self-made superstar who started with modest beginnings and rose to become one of India’s richest and most bankable stars. With a net worth of reportedly around Rs 2,700 crore, it's clear that the Khiladi of Bollywood knows how to balance business, entertainment, and humour, all with style.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar was recently seen in Jolly LLB 3. Up next, he has teamed up again with Saif Ali Khan for a new film titled Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. Apart from this, Akshay is working on two more films with Priyadarshan, Bhoot Bangla, a horror-comedy, and the highly awaited Hera Pheri 3.
