Shukla’s foundation was laid at City Montessori School, Aliganj Campus, Lucknow, where values of discipline and global thinking shaped his ambitions. Inspired by the Kargil conflict in 1998, he quietly applied for the UPSC NDA exam without informing his family. He graduated in 2005 with a degree in Computer Science and was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in 2006 after completing flight training.
Over the years, he built a distinguished aviation career, logging nearly 2,000 flight hours across aircraft like the Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, and Jaguar. Selected in 2019 for India’s Gaganyaan mission, he trained at Russia’s Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and ISRO’s Bengaluru facility. He also holds a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from IISc, Bengaluru.
