Maruti Suzuki commenced the exports of eVITARA, Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in August. The company shipped over 2,900 units of the new model from Pipavav Port in Gujarat to 12 European countries.
United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium are set to receive ' Made in India' models of eVITARA.
A preview of the eVITARA was done earlier in Milan, Italy, and at Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi, India.
On August 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged the production of e VITARA at the company's manufacturing facility in Hansalpur, Gujarat. He hailed Maruti Suzuki as a brand ambassador of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
"The start of export of eVITARA to Europe is indeed a proud and defining moment for us.
