Depressed Darshan Spends Sleepless Night After Arrest, Skips Independence Day Celebrations At Bengaluru Prison

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who was arrested by the Bengaluru Police on Thursday, hours after the Supreme Court cancelled the bail granted to him by the Karnataka High Court, is reportedly depressed following his arrest. He also skipped participating in the 79th Independence Day celebrations held today (August 15) at the Bengaluru Central Prison.

Darshan Depressed After Arrest

According to News18, along with Darshan, Prajwal Revanna, the former JD(S) MP convicted in the obscene video and rape case, also did not participate in the celebrations. Sources further stated that both Darshan and Prajwal are in a state of depression following recent developments in their respective cases. The actor is also said to have remained awake throughout the night in prison.

On Thursday, Darshan was taken to the Annapoorneshwari Police Station, and after completing formalities and undergoing a medical check-up, he was produced before the court.

Pavithra Gowda Arrested Along With Darshan

Along with Darshan's, the SC also cancelled Pavithra Gowda's bail, and soon after, she was arrested from her Bengaluru residence. In a video, she can be seen being escorted out of her house by the police, and was seen getting irritated as media gathered outside her house.

About Renukaswamy Murder Case

Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan who allegedly sent inappropriate messages to his alleged girlfriend, actress Pavithra Gowda.

The same day, Pavithra was also arrested in the murder case.

Darshan was granted interim bail on medical grounds on October 30, 2024, and later received conditional bail on December 13, 2024.
