'Disgusting & Disrespectful': Shraddha Kapoor Fans Slam Stree 2 Director Amar Kaushik For Saying 'Chudail Ki Tarah Hasti Hai' (Watch)

Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe started with the 2018 release Stree which starred Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead. She later did a cameo in a song in Bhediya, and was seen in last year’s release Stree 2, which became a blockbuster at the box office by collecting Rs. 597 crore. Now, an interview of Amar Kaushik has gone viral in which he is talking about casting of Shraddha in Stree franchise. He says that Dinesh told him that the actress laughs like a chudail (witch).

In an interview with Komal Nahta, while talking about Shraddha’s casting, Amar said, “Shraddha ki casting (credit) puri ki puri Dinesh Vijan ko jaati hai. Woh Shraddha ke saath kisi flight mein aarahe the, aur flight mein who unko mili thi (The credit of Shraddha’s casting goes to Dinesh Vijan. He was on a flight with Shraddha, and he had met her).”

The filmmaker further added, “Toh unhone bola, Amar woh jab hasti hai na  toh ekdum Stree ki tarah, ekdum chudail ki tarah hasti hai, sorry Shraddha. So, aisa kuch bola tha unhone. Chudail bola tha ya kuch aur, I am not sure. Toh main jab unhe mila toh sabse pehle maine unko bola haso (So, he told me Amar she laughs like a Stree. She laughs like a witch, sorry Shraddha. So, he said something like that, I don’t remember he said witch or something else, I am not sure. So, when I met Shraddha, the first thing I told her was to laugh).”

This might be a funny story for the filmmaker, but Shraddha’s fans are very upset, and they are slamming Amar Kaushik on social media.

A fan wrote, “First Apar, now him?! Is this some new trend where men from her own films diss her publicly? This is how you talk about your leading lady?? First they promoted the film on her name and after that talking sh!t! Shraddha deserves better team members!! (sic)”

Another X user wrote, “Whether you're a fan of Shraddha or not, but this is utter disgusting and disrespectful to speak about your leading lady at a public forum as a director, shame (sic).” One more fan posted, “atp she really shouldn't be doing stree 3 or be part of any cameos in their horror franchise. this is so disrespectful even if you're her fan or not but saying such insensitive remarks for a woman is cheap (sic).”

We wonder what Shraddha has to say about Amar’s statement.

Meanwhile, fans of the Stree franchise are waiting for the third instalment of the movie. Maddock Films has announced that Stree 3 will release on August 13, 2027. So, let’s wait and watch whether Shraddha will do the film or not.
