Rohit Sharma is once again at the center of controversy after a video posted by Mumbai Indians on social media went viral, reminding fans of a similar incident from IPL 2024. The video, shared on the eve of Mumbai’s match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium in IPL 2025, quickly gained attention for all the wrong reasons.

The video featured a conversation between Rohit and Zaheer Khan, the former MI coach and current mentor of the Lucknow team. Rohit can be heard saying, “Jo jab Karna tha maine kiya barabar se, ab mereko kuch karne ki zarurat nahi hai” (Whatever had to be done, I did it properly, now I don't need to do anything).

As the video continued Rishabh Pant, was seen approaching the 37-year-old (Rohit) and giving him a hug.

Fans reaction to Rohit Sharma's latest video

The incident instantly raised eyebrows, with fans recalling a similar controversy that surrounded Rohit last year. In IPL 2024, a video of him speaking with Kolkata Knight Riders assistant coach Abhishek Nayar before a match went viral. In that clip, Rohit allegedly discussed internal matters within the Mumbai Indians camp, suggesting that "everything would change one by one." The video was later taken down by KKR’s social media team

Mumbai Indians aiming for back to back wins

Misfiring Rohit SHarma and Rishabh Pant will be in focus on Friday as Mumbai Indians prepare to take on Lucknow Super Giants. LSG has the joint-best head-to-head record against the Mumbai Indians (5-1), but they face them in Lucknow with problems to solve. The batters are yet to consistently score runs, especially Pant, who is yet to fire with the bat. Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh have played impactful innings and will be needed to fire again against Mumbai.

MI began their season with back-to-back losses before bouncing back with a comprehensive win against Kolkata Knight Riders. Suryakumar Yadav seems to be back in form, while Ryan Rickelton scored a fine half-century against KKR. However, Rohit Sharma's poor form with the bat continues, scoring just 21 runs in three innings, which remains a concern. This contest should be an interesting one as batters from both teams will look to make huge scores
