Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav asked the aviation department to look for the possibility of having helipad in or around CM house so that traffic snarls could be avoided during VIP movement.
Public works department (PWD) is surveying places to have helipad around CM House. One of its proposals vouches to have helipad at Manav Sangrahalaya which is very close to CM House.
Currently, things related to development of helipad at Manav Sangralaya are in pipeline and no final decision has been taken hitherto. Moreover, no land allotment has been done in this regard.
If land is allotted, then it will be done by the Centre. Sources said, that PWD Maintenance Division has prepared Abstract of Estimate for proposed helipad and lounge at Manav Sangralaya.
The Abstract of Estimate suggests to construct helipad, waiting lounge and landscaping, parking with RCC columns and others at Manav Sangralaya. The overall estimate is of ₹2,48,99,888.
The number of helipad suggested is three. Sources in PWD said that the aviation consent is needed for the go ahead to the proposal. It is after the examination of the proposal by the aviation department that things will begin to take shape.
Likewise, one helipad is supposed to be developed around Vallabh Bhawan. When the helipad around CM House and Vallabh Bhawan will get developed, travel time of CM would get reduced substantially and the public will not need to face traffic prohibition during VIP movement.
When contacted, PWD officer Sanjay Maske said that a proposal has been made to develop the helipad around CM House. The proposal has gone for sanction.
Likewise, another helipad would come up around Vallabh Bhawan. All things are in proposed stage and nothing is final. Sources said that as CM house premises is not having adequate and suitable land for helipad, search of land is being done around CM house to develop the helipad.
Notably, it was in the last review of the aviation department that CM had instructed officers to search for possibilities of having a helipad around CM House and Vallabh Bhawan. He did not want that people shall face traffic blues when his cavalcade passes from CM House to Vallabh Bhawan.
