Varanasi: On the occasion of the 15th International Widow Day, a heartwarming and respectful honour ceremony was held at the Upper Primary School in Chaubepur, Varanasi. The event was jointly organized by Amaravati Welfare Society and Lumba Foundation to acknowledge and empower widowed women from nearby areas.
A total of 170 widowed mothers and sisters were honoured during the ceremony with traditional sarees, as a gesture of respect and solidarity. Many of these women had previously completed skill development training through the Society and are now engaged in self-reliant livelihoods. Their re-honouring served to boost their morale and celebrate their resilience.
