The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the schedule for the LT Grade Teacher Recruitment Exam 2026. Under this, recruitment will be done for 7,466 posts.
A major update has arrived for millions of candidates dreaming of becoming government teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the detailed exam schedule for the Assistant Teacher (LT Grade) Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) Recruitment Examination 2026. This recruitment process will fill a total of 7,466 positions in government secondary schools across the state. Candidates can check the complete information by visiting the official website, uppsc.up.nic.in.
This recruitment has been in the news for a long time, and now that the exam dates have been announced, candidates' preparations have intensified. The Commission has announced that it will conduct exams for a total of nine subjects, of which the exam dates for eight have been announced. The exam date for only the Computer subject will be announced later.
The exam will be held in January 2026
According to a notice issued by the Commission, the exam will be held on different days in January 2026. The exams will be held in two shifts: morning shift from 9 AM to 11 AM and afternoon shift from 3 PM to 5 PM.
Social Science and Biology exams will be held on January 17, 2026. English and Physical Education exams will be held on January 18, 2026. Arts and Agriculture/Horticulture exams will be held on January 24, 2026. Urdu and Music exams will be held on January 25, 2026. All exams will be conducted offline, and exam centers will be set up in various districts across the state.
Approximately 1.2 million candidates will participate.
This recruitment is considered one of the largest teacher recruitments ever conducted in Uttar Pradesh. According to the commission, a total of 1,236,238 candidates have applied for 7,466 posts. Due to the large number of applicants, examination centers are being selected with extreme caution.
The examination will be monitored from the control room.
The examination will be fully monitored through a control room system. This is the same module used by the Commission during the PCS examination. Each examination center will be considered a sector. A sector magistrate, a static magistrate, and a police inspector will be deployed in each sector to immediately control any disturbances or attempts at cheating during the examination.
How will the selection be done?
The selection process for this recruitment will be based directly on the scores in the main (written) examination. This means that a good score in this exam is crucial. There will be no interview.
