Adorned with a miniature pool and inflatable flamingos, Maya commands her team at HQ: "Right, this year, Love Island needs something bigger. Something bolder. I want ideas."

When one suggests relocating the show to the Isle of Wight, Maya's silence speaks volumes.

A colleague clad in budgie smugglers proposes: "Why don't we turn it into a musical?" receiving a curt "Why?" from Maya.

A Japanese dialogue then ensues when someone pitches "Love Island on ice?" to which she firmly responds with a "never" in Japanese.

Dismissive of another pitch involving robots, Maya stands determined, exclaiming: "No!", and declares: "This year I want more drama, more bombshells, more break-ups, more make-ups. I want more twists. I want more twists than ever."

Her colleagues around the posh office table start clapping as narrator Iain Stirling's voiceover announces that Love Island will be "coming soon".

The official start date for Love Island season 12 is yet to be revealed, but with the trailer now out, it could be announced any day.

So, will Maya's wish for an even more dramatic 12th season come true?

Love Island season 12 will premiere this summer on ITV and ITVX.
