The first Monday of May has arrived, which can only mean one thing - The is back! For celebrities and socialites, this is the biggest day of their year with the world's best designers to showcase art in the form of their unique curated outfits, makeup and hairstyles.
ranging from beloved film stars and record-selling singers to fashion designers and industry leaders, all of whom were invited by Anna Wintour and Vogue, the Met Gala is akin to for fashion enthusiasts. This year's hosts include iconic actor Colman Domingo, F1 driver , rapper A$AP Rocky, producer and designer Pharrell Williams and Anna.
First to storm the red carpet was and social media sensation Emma Chamberlain, 23, who pulled out all the stops in a noughties-inspired ensemble. The blonde beauty wore her short hair in a spiked style and opted for a navy pinstriped backless dress complete with matching mesh gloves.

Anna Wintour was next to grace the red carpet in a show-stopping look which ensured the whole venue had all eyes on her. The fashion mogul, 75, oozed elegance in a satin silver gown adorned with embellished floral detailing. She finished off the incredible look with a baby blue -long-lined blazer to keep in line with the Met Gala's theme.
The host committee also include the likes André 3000, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Grace Wales Bonner, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, Jordan Casteel, Dapper Dan, Doechii, Ayo Edebiri and Edward Enninful.

Other members of the committee are Jeremy O Harris, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Rashid Johnson, Regina King, Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee, Audra McDonald, Janelle Monáe, Jeremy Pope, Angel Reese, Sha’Carri Richardson, Olivier Rousteing, Tyla, Usher and Kara Walker.
The Met Gala is an annual haute couture fundraiser held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, specifically to support the Costume Institute.
This event is celebrated as the ’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion gathering, attracting top figures from the film, music, and fashion industries.
2025's theme at the annual is "Tailored for You" in connection with the Costume Institute's landmark new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." This exhibition will explore how clothing and style shape the evolution of Black identities across the Atlantic diaspora, with a particular focus on menswear.
With the annual event unfolding in New York City, the red carpet won't officially open until 11pm UK time, with a livestream available for fans to tune in.
The Met Gala is taking place on 5 May, before the reveal of the Costume Institute’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibition, which will be running from 10 May to 26 October this year.
