Matt, a plant specialist from Lively Root, has explained that peace lilies require more than just regular watering during this period, as they frequently become parched when positioned inappropriately within the home.

He explained: "Peace lily flowers may turn brown if they grow in indoor spaces with low humidity. These include heated and air-conditioned rooms with reduced levels of air moisture, which can lead to browning flowers of your beloved peace lily plant."

Peace lilies originate from tropical rainforests, requiring placement in warm locations with elevated humidity levels to maintain their foliage in good condition.

When positioned in arid conditions, the moisture within their leaves evaporates rapidly, and the root system cannot replenish the lost water quickly enough, causing dehydration, reports the Express.

This moisture deficit begins to harm the plant tissue, resulting in brown leaves, and will ultimately prove fatal as the plant fails to receive adequate hydration.

During September, many households start activating their central heating, and the warmth from radiators removes moisture from room air, severely affecting peace lilies.

It's also typical to position a peace lily beside a window, but any chilly draught will likewise dehydrate the plant, making survival unlikely throughout the cooler months.
