The Baal Aadhaar Card is a special version of Aadhaar issued for children below 5 years of age. It includes the child’s photo, name, date of birth, and parent’s details, serving as an official identity and address proof. The card is essential for school admissions, government schemes, and healthcare services.
What is Baal Aadhaar? For children under 5, biometric data like fingerprints and iris scans are not stable. Therefore, the Baal Aadhaar only captures the child’s photo, basic details, and links to a parent’s Aadhaar number. This ensures easy verification of the child’s identity.
The card is issued and managed by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), which provides a 12-digit unique ID to every resident.
