Indian Railways is all set to ensure smooth travel for devotees and passengers during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. For 2025, the Railways has announced a record 380 Ganpati special trains, the highest ever in the festival’s history. In recent years, the number of special trains has been steadily increasing—305 in 2023 and 358 in 2024—indicating growing passenger demand during the celebrations.

Central Railway: 296 services to manage heavy rush in Maharashtra and the Konkan region

Special stoppages for trains heading to Konkan include major stations such as Kolad, Mangaon, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, and Surathkal.
Schedule and Travel InformationGanpati Puja celebrations will run from August 27 to September 6, 2025. To accommodate the expected surge in passengers, special trains have already started operating from August 11, 2025, with frequencies increasing as the festival approaches. Travelers can check train schedules via the IRCTC website, RailOne app, or PRS counters.
