Bloodshed in the Valley: Terrorists Attack Tourists in Pahalgam, Trigger Nationwide Outrage

In a brutal terrorist attack that has shaken the nation, over 28 people are feared dead after gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, a popular destination in South Kashmir. The attackers reportedly fired more than 50 rounds, leaving several critically injured. The incident has put security forces across the region on high alert.

Dressed as Police, Terrorists Fired at Tourists Around 3 PM

According to sources, two to three militants disguised in police uniforms descended from the hills into Baisaran Valley, known for its scenic meadows and dubbed the 'Mini Switzerland' of India. Without warning, they began indiscriminately shooting at tourists. Most casualties are believed to have occurred on the spot.

Heart-Wrenching Scenes Caught on Video

A video from the attack site shows victims lying motionless and women crying out for their loved ones. The graphic visuals have stirred emotional outrage and exposed serious gaps in local security.

Home Minister Reaches Srinagar, Emergency Meeting Convened

Home Minister Amit Shah briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the attack and soon convened an emergency meeting. He has reached Srinagar and will conduct a detailed security review with top officials. The NIA is expected to visit Pahalgam on Wednesday to investigate the terror strike.

PM Modi Issues Stern Warning

From Saudi Arabia, where he is currently on a diplomatic tour, Prime Minister Modi expressed strong condemnation and vowed justice:

“Those behind this heinous act will not be spared. Their evil agenda will never succeed.”

J&K CM Calls It One of the Worst Attacks on Civilians

Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah called the attack one of the deadliest on civilians in recent years, adding that the exact death toll is still being assessed.
