Meta AI on WhatsApp Set to Become Your Personal Assistant: How It Works

Send Push

Meta AI on WhatsApp is preparing for an exciting update that could enhance its functionality as a personal assistant. This upgrade will include a new Chat Memory feature, which aims to customize the AI chatbot according to individual user preferences, making interactions more relevant and personalized.

Reports indicate that this Chat Memory feature will enable Meta AI to remember key details from conversations, such as dietary preferences, birthdays, allergies, personal interests, and even the user's preferred conversational style. By retaining this information, the AI is expected to offer responses that align more closely with the user's lifestyle.

For example, when a user requests food recommendations, Meta AI could automatically filter out options that the user dislikes or is allergic to, based on the previously stored preferences.

Screenshots shared by sources suggest that Meta AI will include a disclaimer, informing users that the chatbot “automatically remembers certain parts of your chat to give you more relevant responses." Users will also have the ability to instruct the AI on what specific information to retain by using the “remember this" command.

For those concerned about privacy, the report assures that WhatsApp users will have full control over the information Meta AI retains. Users can update or delete stored information at any time, ensuring they manage their data as they see fit.

The Chat Memory feature was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.22.9, and it is expected that WhatsApp will roll out this update to a broader audience soon. However, Meta has yet to make an official announcement regarding this feature, and it has not been confirmed in the WhatsApp beta application by independent sources.
