The 2025 British Open will conclude on Sunday with a whopping £100,000 on offer to the winner of the final. The World Snooker Tour event has been a hit once again at The Centaur, with many big battles taking place on the table across the early rounds.
Former world champion Judd Trump said goodbye to a bigger share of the prize pot on Thursday after Shaun Murphy defeated him 4-3 to make it to the quarter-finals of the competition. This is the fifth edition of the prestigious tournament after it was revived by the WST in 2021, and is formatted as a ranking event. First established in 1980 and won by Alex Higgins, the British Open took an extended break for 17 years - from the 2004/05 season until the 2021/22 season.
Mark Selby won last year's final, defeating John Higgins 10-5 to win his first title at the event. Selby made it to the final in 2023 as well, but was beaten by Welsh snooker icon Mark Williams 10-7 to the trophy.

Coverage will begin at 1:45pm BST on ITV4. The match is a best-of-19-frame decider to determine the winner of this year's tournament.
What's the British Open prize money?This year's winner of the Clive Everton trophy will receive the same amount that Selby took home in 2024. The British Open champion receives £100,000.
The runner-up, meanwhile, gets £45,000 from a total prize fund of £502,000. Each semi-finalist raked in £20,000, while the quarter-finalists got £12,000 each.
