WNBA star has reportedly shifted her stance on joining the emerging 3-on-3 Unrivaled basketball league after the organisers tabled a lucrative proposal.
Clark was the standout rookie from the 2024 WNBA season, with the Indiana Fever point guard one of the driving forces behind the league's increased popularity.
The Rookie of the Year winner was part of a league that saw a surge in viewership, ticket sales and merchandise throughout its 2024 season.
But, with , there have been concerns about the league's long-term profitability.
Clark has been able to boost her own coffers by signing several big-money partnerships, including a deal with manufacturer Nike.
However, a move to Unrivaled - a new 3-on-3 basketball league taking the States by storm - has been touted.
Clark is one of the most recognisable and most loved female basketball players in the country, with it little surprise the organisers are willing to throw big money at the Fever star.
It's reported by that Unrivaled are open to offering Clark significant equity in the business, alongside a three-month salary worth close to £1million.
The proposal appears to have turned Clark's head somewhat, given the report suggests the 22-year-old is 60/40 towards saying yes.
Any decision is unlikely to be impacted by the opinion of her WNBA team, given Indiana are believed to be open to the idea of Clark joining the Unrivaled project.
Speaking to the Journal, one source said to be close to Clark revealed: "[It] comes down to mental health, stress or playing ball -which she loves
"She has not decided yet...there will be a spot for her if she wants it, but she will be paid for what she brings to the league, as much as a new league can afford... I think a few weeks we will know."
The six-team league is set to get underway in the new year, with a decision from Clark needing to come sometime before that.
Despite the increased optimism surrounding a yes answer, the league aren't taking her participation for granted though.
A source told the Journal: "Ultimately, they're [Unrivaled] not applying pressure and just building the league, and hopefully she joins because if she does, it would have a dramatic impact in a positive way.
"But they don't even have a timetable on when that decision is coming. It's like recruiting someone. It's a decision that can go either way.
"There's only two answers. I think one way or another, any player that doesn't play this year, I think once they see it, it's just going to be hard not to want to join."
