Chelsea brutally mocked by Club World Cup opponents then have salt poured in the wounds

Chelsea were savagely trolled by Flamengo at the Club World Cup before going on to lose 3-1 to their Brazilian opponents in Philadelphia. After leading at half-time through Pedro Neto's early goal, it unraveled for the Blues after the break as Bruno Henrique, former Manchester City man Danilo and Wallace Yan all struck.

To compound matters, Enzo Maresca's side finished with 10 men after Nicolas Jackson was sent off midway through the second half. Just moments after his side had gone 2-1 down, the Senegalese international was sent on as a substitute but immediately launched into a reckless tackle and was duly red carded. The result now leaves the Premier League side in danger of not qualifying for the knockout stages ahead of their final group game with ES Tunis.

In contrast, the joy of the Flamengo players was evident as they wildly celebrated their second-half goals. Fans of the 'Mengao' created a partisan atmosphere both pre-game and during the 90 minutes, with their fans dancing on the streets before kick-off.

The club's official X account also ruthlessly mocked their English counterparts. They posted a video of supporters waving flags and singing loudly, while a few Chelsea fans were spotted watching the scenes with one man filming it all on his mobile phone.

The footage included the caption: "Chelsea fans in SHOCK as they find out what real fans look like." The trolling didn't end there, as one Flamengo fan suggested the Blues faithful were meeting the "most popular team in Brazil."

The Flamengo account replied: "A dream come true for them." When it was pointed out there was female in Chelsea gear jumping along, they wrote: "She's a Flamengo fan now."

After openly goading the Premier League side Flamengo duly rubbed salt into the wounds on the field to make it two wins from two in their Club World Cup campaign. They seemed on course to prove a point with Neto's cool finish after 13 minutes, but ensured a chaotic six-minute spell in the second half as Henrique and Danilo tapped in.

That was followed by Jackson's dismissal after his studs made contact with Lucas Ayrton's before Yan rounded off the scoring late on. Maresca's men now need a win over African club ES Tunis on Tuesday to qualify for the last 16, and the defeat now puts them on a collision course with Bayern Munich.
