Julia Bradbury revealed the best purchase she has ever made. The 54-year-old is best known for presenting a series of outdoor programmes including , Planet Earth Live and The Wonder of Britain. Back in 2011, Julia spoke candidly with about managing money, revealing her pocket money came with a ledger when she was a child. Explaining how her childhood impacted her attitude towards money, she said: "I remember very clearly the day we discussed pocket money - [my mum] gave me a ledger and taught me how to use it.
"There was an 'in' and an 'out' column and I was given my money upfront and had to learn how to balance the ledger and budget." In the same interview, Julia was asked about the best item she has ever bought. "A Norman Parkinson photograph," she responded. "I love photography and it's brought me great joy to look at this particular picture."

The BBC star continued: "And since Norman Parkinson has sadly passed away it's gone up in value too. I bought it 15 years ago for about £1,000 and I've had people who know that business tell me the value has increased quite significantly since then, but I don't know by how much."
Earlier this year, Julia emotionally opened up about her battle with breast cancer, explaining how the ordeal turned her life around for the better. The presenter faced a harrowing journey when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. She underwent a mastectomy to excise a six cm tumour, but is now thankfully cancer-free.
The TV star disclosed how this daunting experience reshaped her entire perspective on life and inadvertently became a lesson in cherishing it.
"The reason I say cancer saved my life is because it was a moment and an opportunity for me to completely reassess my own health and my approach to health," Julia told The Sun.
While Julia wasn't blaming herself for her diagnosis, it made her realise that her previous daily living habits were far from healthy. The mum-of-three spoke candidly about the importance of sleep, something she admits was severely neglected during the early days of her career, especially when working on shows like Lorraine and Good Morning Britain.
She explained: "I was doing GMB back then too, and I'd stay up until two or three o'clock because you're buzzing because you've been on live television. And then I'd sleep till whatever time it was and then get up and then start chasing people right down the red carpet again."
Julia remarked: "I look back and I go, I'm not actually that surprised. I mean, my disease manifested itself as cancer. It could have been type 2 diabetes. It could have been three or four other things."
The TV presenter has now shifted her focus towards health and wellbeing, revealing that the first significant lifestyle change she made post-diagnosis was to completely quit alcohol.
