Emails released by US House Democrats claim that Donald Trump "spent hours" at convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's house with an alleged victim. Among the documents released on November 12 is an email exchange between Epstein and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
In the message dating back to 2011, Epstein said: "i want you to relize that that dog that hasn't barked is trump... VICTIM spent hours at my house with him,, he has never once mentioned. police chief. etc, im 75% there [SIC]." Maxwell, who has been convicted of conspiring in Epstein's sex trafficking ring and is serving a 20-year sentence, replied: "I have been thinking about that..."
The emails were released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, who obtained them after subpoenaing Epstein's estate earlier this year. Mr Trump didn't receive or send any of the messages included in the latest release, and hasn't been accused of any criminal wrongdoing in connection with Epstein or Maxwell. The messages released today largely predate his time as US President, with Mr Trump entering the White House for the first time in January 2017 following his November 2016 elections. The Express has contacted the White House for comment.
