Chelsea will reportedly apart from Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo this summer. The Blues could be left with a bloated squad if they don't move players on after bringing in plenty of fresh faces in recent years.
Palmer has excelled since moving from Manchester City to Chelsea in 2023, although his form has nosedived in recent months. Caicedo, meanwhile, was signed for a record British transfer fee of £115m when he exchanged Brighton for Stamford Bridge during the same transfer window. With all other players seemingly up for grabs, Express Sport takes a look at four players Chelsea need to keep.
Reece JamesReece James is a leader at Stamford Bridge and is arguably one of the most talented players in the Premier League.
His fitness has been the major issue over the course of his career, with the versatile 25-year-old often spending months at a time on the sidelines through injury.
James makes an impact when he plays and is a key voice in the dressing room as well, so the Blues should concentrate their efforts on keeping him fit rather than looking for a buyer.
Pedro Neto has been a shining light at times this season and is always a danger to opposition teams thanks to his electric pace.
The former Wolves winger needs to improve his output in front of goal after chipping in with just four goals and five assists in the Premier League this season. But he offers his team a huge threat going forward and could kick on next season if his team find their feet.
Trevoh ChalobahChelsea boss Enzo Maresca made the decision to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell with Crystal Palace in January. And the centre-back has rewarded his boss with a series of fine displays.
Chalobah has probably been the Blues' best defender during the second half of the season and was a rock against Newcastle last weekend, despite the fact his side . If he gets a run of games next season, Chelsea will be more solid with him in the side.
Levi ColwillLevi Colwill is another player who deserves a chance to progress at Stamford Bridge after nailing down a place in the Blues side at the heart of the backline.
The England international is still only 22 but has racked up bags of experience. And if managed right, he could become a Chelsea hero as the Blues aim to get back to the top of the Premier League in the years ahead.
