Horror as car ploughs into Home Bargains store smashing through window

Emergency services have raced to the scene of a car crash in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, after the vehicle smashed into a Home Bargains store.

The vehicle crashed through the glass windows on Monday.

Pictures shared online showed the car, with a learner plate on the back, inside the store following the incident.

Firefighters were at the scene and helped two people to exit the vehicle, according to reports.

A cordon is now in place at the scene of the crash.

Police Scotland told the Daily Record that no crime has taken place. They also confirmed there are no injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.03am on Monday, 10 November to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle in Milngavie.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the town's Westpark, where firefighters used equipment to remove two casualties from their vehicle.

"The casualties were then transferred into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service personnel and given a precautionary check-up, but did not attend hospital.

"Firefighters left the scene after working to make the area safe."
