This is the unbelievable moment a man set fire to himself and a cafe counter after he allegedly became enraged when they refused to serve him mayonnaise with his sandwich. Spanish media reports the man in his 50s requested the popular condiment to go with his order of a shredded beef sandwich.
But when the waitress kindly informed the diner she could not offer mayonnaise as the food was pre-made, it is said to have sparked a bizarre reaction from the customer. Local media reports the man, who was sitting with two friends, said "can you bring me some mayonnaise or ketchup?", to which the waitress replied: "No, sir, this establishment is a cafeteria and we only have pre-made sandwiches, so we don't have mayonnaise or ketchup."
The man then left the cafe but returned seconds later and splashed petrol on the counter before setting it, and partially himself, on fire. The incredible meltdown was caught on CCTV at the renowned cafe called Las Postas, in Los Palacios y Villafranca, near Seville, on Wednesday.
Cameras show the man walking away from the blaze before he casually stamps his clothes to put out the flames on his body. A quick-thinking staff member then uses a fire extinguisher to put out the inferno inside the cafe.
The firebug was arrested by Civil Guard officers in the nearby Plaza de Andalucía a few moments after the attack, which happened around 7.00pm. The alleged attacker was treated at a health centre for burns and is due to appear in court today (Friday).
ABC News reports stunned cafe owner José Antonio Caballero, said: "When there is an argument or a problem, things can happen right away, but the fact that suddenly, simply because we don't have any mayonnaise or ketchup, a man goes so crazy as to set fire to a cafe seems mind-boggling to me, something I can't understand no matter how much I think about it."

It's alleged the man bought around 1.5 litres of petrol from a local garage just a few metres from the cafe to carry out the bizarre condiment rage attack.
According to Cadena SER, the flames caused as much as £7,000 in damage. Owner Mr Caballero added when the man came back holding a bottle, which was carrying the petrol, he asked the bartender "are you sure there's no mayonnaise?" before allegedly setting fire to the counter using a lighter from his pocket.
