Jamie Dornan and wife Amelia Warner have been together since they met at a party in 2010 and tied the knot in 2013. Although they are very private, they appear to have an idyllic relationship and share three children together Dulcie, born the year they married, Elva, who arrived in 2016, and Alberta, who came along in 2019.
It is all a far cry from Amelia's first "marriage" to Irish actor Colin Farrell, now 48. The couple began dating in July 2001 and soon became a fixture on red carpets. The actress turned singer and composer was 19 when a mutual friend introduced her to the then hard-drinking Colin in Los Angeles. In an interview with the Sunday Mirror in 2004, six years before she met her now husband Jamie, Amelia, 42, admitted it was a passionate romance. It was so passionate that the pair underwent a marriage ceremony while on holiday in Tahiti just months into their relationship.
"We were in Tahiti. We went to the activities desk and said, 'We want to go jet-skiing and shark-feeding and... we want to get married'.
"They said: 'Cool, we'll do the shark-feeding on Monday, jet-skiing on Tuesday and we can fit in a wedding on Wednesday'," she told the publication.
"It wasn't legally binding, it was just something we did for us." However she conceded that at the time she would have happily wed him for real. "We were properly engaged, we had a party with family and everything. But it just didn't work out."
For his part Colin has described their "wedding" as "just a thing we did on holiday".
Colin's loss was Jamie's gain and the Belfast star has made no secret of his continuing adoration for his wife and children.
In a 2015 interview with , he said: "I was smitten from the start, I really was,"
"I'm more in love with her today than I was at the start," the 43-year-old revealed.
In a 2022 Instagram post, he shared a snap of Amelia holding hands with their girls whilst crossing the street. He touchingly captioned it: "I'm nothing but a pile of dust without this crew."
