Motorists already on the road are facing long queues on the M1 in Hertfordshire on Thursday. The stretch between J5 (Watford) and J1 (Brent Cross) is closed southbound due to a planned overnight closure which has overrrun its pre-agreed end time of 05:30am, National Highways said.
Traffic cameras of Junction 5 showed a long queues already forming at around 6am on May 29. Drivers are urged to allow extra journey time, plan ahead and, if at all possible, re-route or even delay their journey.
