This is the bloke who during Brexit did his level best to annihilate this country. He and his EU cronies were so angry, so affronted that Britain wanted to leave their unelected little clique (and take our money with us) that they did everything in their power to destroy us.
He's also the man Britain has given the thick end of a billion quid to over the last decade to help stop immigrants crossing the channel, the result being the problem is now ten times worse because France has done sod all. Macron's useless officers (clearly on his orders) stand by smoking and chatting on Calais's beaches while thousands of illegal migrants clambers aboard boats for Britain.
There was a bit of a show last weekend when those officers suddenly sprang into action and slashed a few of the dinghies. So, why haven't they been doing that these last 12 years because slashing the boats is a sure-fire way to stop them. No, this little show was a PR stunt staged in the days before Macron's visit to make it look like he really was earning the multimillions we keep throwing at him.
And now just to add insult to injury it looks like the" one in one out" immigration deal Starmer was negotiating with Macron (always a stupid idea as it should be 'None In, All Out') to help bring down illegal immigration is about to be scuppered by Macron's mates in the other EU states.
They claim that sending illegals back to France is dangerous because they could then be sent back to their country of origin. So what? Most of them aren't coming from war torn countries. They're economic migrants and the only thing they're fleeing is poverty not war and persecution. They want a free ride and a free house in Britain and Starmer keeps giving it to them.
But don't tell me Macron, who virtually runs the EU, didn't know about the objections of the other EU states. Of course he did, but he kept on talking to Starmer, pretending the plan could work, so that the money would keep on coming. And on his trip here this week he's going to promise, yet again, to get tougher on the migrants - while presumably demanding many more millions from us - and the mug Starmer will believe him and cough up.
So why the Hell are we rolling out the red carpet for this man who is hated by his own people, whose policies have provoked social unrest and who the electorate see as one of the worst presidents ever.
Macron's government is in such chaos that its parliament is paralysed, and it can't get legislation passed. And so, Macron knowing his number is up at home has been scuttling off onto the international stage meeting Putin and having talks with other world leaders just to make it look like he's still relevant even though the French people see him as a busted flush.
Does any of this sound familiar? Maybe that's why he and Starmer get on so well - they both know they're on borrowed time, so they run around the world ignoring problems at home playing international statesman milking what's left of their power. So knowing all that why is King Charles affording this charlatan a state visit? In a speech today he will tell Macron: "There are no borders between our countries."
No, there damn well aren't and that's the reason why more than 170,000 illegal immigrants have come here since 2018 aided and abetted by Macron. I don't care if Charles and the French president have a close friendship because of their shared interests in climate change. The fact is Macron is no friend of this country which he's made clear time and time again.
It's not a good look for the King to be cow towing to this failed leader who in terms of state visits is getting the full monty - a royal salute, a carriage procession to Windsor Castle not to mention a regimental band, a guard of honour and a state banquet. I'm sorry but Macron deserves none of it after betraying this country the way he did over Brexit.
We're told this visit is to make clear that UK / French relations are back on track after years of bad blood over Brexit. Says who? They're not. At the so-called Brexit reset recently (others called it a Surrender Summit) Starmer was forced by the EU (with Macron leading the charge) into extending our coastal fishing rights to EU member states for the next 12 years.
The original number mooted was just five but our cowardly PM did what he always does when he's leaned on - he carved into EU demands. We got beggar all out of that summit save for the scrapping of some lorry checks and access (from just a handful of countries') to passport e-gates. Whoopee!!!! We sell out our fisherman for limited access to passport e-gates proving yet again that the EU always operates with us on the basis that IT'S the rule maker and WE'RE the rule taker.
So, while Charles may well feel an affinity to Macron and France it shows how out of touch with the British people if he thinks we feel the same. We don't because we were all at the sharp end of his spite and his vindictiveness over Brexit. We're still all at the sharp end of illegal immigration and France's refusal to do anything useful to help us control it even though its being paid handsomely to do so.
So, while the King might think Macron's a decent cove many of us have good reason to think he's a duplicitous snake. Which is why the idea of affording this little Napoleon a state visit sticks in the craw of many of us who'll never believe this visit is about forging better relations with the UK. It's simply fanning the ego of a failed president who knows he won't be in power for much longer and so is making the most of the trappings while he can. But at a time Britain is skint why are we wasting taxpayers' cash sucking up to the bloke who tried to destroy us.
