The Miss England pageant has been plunged into an ugly row as the winning beauty queen claims she's been deposed midway through her year-long reign. Current title holder Milla Magee, 24, who won the support of Prince William for her campaigning work, appears to have been replaced by Charlotte Grant, 25.
The controversy erupted when Milla stormed out of the Miss World pageant in India last month in a sexism row. She claimed she and other 107 contestants were expected to entertain the competition's wealthy benefactors over dinner, which left her feeling "like a prostitute." She also said she was given no time to speak about the causes she supports - ocean conservation and CPR being taught in schools - as she'd been promised prior to the event.

She flew home from the finals in Hyderabad and her Miss England runner-up, Charlotte, took part in her place.
However, Milla expected to continue with her campaigning work as Miss England until the next competition in March 2026.
But she says that since she took her stance against Miss World she has been "ghosted" by Miss England bosses and her image replaced by Charlotte's on the pageant's social media channels.
Other pageant queens have backed Milla and one - amputee model and athlete Annabel Kiki, 16 - has quit Miss England over her treatment.
It has brought into focus on whether pageants still simply "pay lip service" to the campaigns that beauty queens aim to promote.
Milla, from Newquay, Cornwall, said: "I took a principled stand when I left Miss World, I made it clear that it was not OK for contestants to be treated the way we were.
"I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be able to carry on my work as Miss England, which has been brilliant and had given me a platform to promote my causes over the last year to such great effect."
Her efforts to have CPR taught in schools nationwide won the backing of Prince William and after the pair met she received a letter offering the support of Kensington Palace in her future work.
But Milla said: "Since Miss World I have been ghosted. I have heard nothing at all from the Miss England organisers and it's becoming clear that they don't want me anymore.

"Charlotte's image is now on the website and mine has been removed. It is so disappointing because I believed Miss England when they told me their priority was "beauty with a purpose.
"I have felt supported in my campaigning work up until I left Miss World, which is just an old fashioned pageant which cares about beauty and nothing else.
"My experience with Miss England led me to believe it was different, but it look as though I was wrong."
Annabel Kiki has become a successful model, athlete and footballer, despite losing her leg to cancer when she was aged just 13.
She was given a place in the next Miss England competition after becoming Fab UK magazine's top model for 2025.
Her mum, Sally, said: "Annabel didn't even realise it led to a place in the Miss England semi final and after seeing the girl who compete with their perfect hair and smiles she did not feel she belonged in the competition.
"But we met Milla and she told Annabel about all the fantastic campaigning work she has been able to do. It inspired Annabel to think she could launch a campaign around prosthetics for young people if she entered Miss England.
"However after seeing what has happened to Milla since she went out to Miss World it's become clear that the pageant is not for her and she has pulled out."
Miss England has offered to defer her lace until next year, but Annabel has said she does not wish to take part.

Miss England director Angie Beasley said: "We are hoping to have a meeting with Milla Magee within the next two weeks and are just waiting to hear back from her and her mother when this is likely to happen. We have heard Millas mum has been in hospital. We had hoped to have had the meeting by now to discuss her position going forward.
"We are not sure at this stage what route that will take as Miss England leads to Miss World so any promotion of Miss World in England will be carried out by Charlotte Grant the first runner up who went to India in her place .
"The mother wrote to me this explaining why Annabel Kiki has withdrawn , she has been offered an opportunity in Tokyo which sadly falls around the same date as the Miss England semi-final. We have deferred her place until 2026 and I fully support her decision ."
