Panic as Prince Harry 'catch 22' warning issued to King Charles by royal expert

Speaking to , Mr Anderson said: "The King is only hewing to a long-standing royal practice of not dignifying something by commenting on it. The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Prince Harry's remarks.

"It is understandable that Harry would go public - after all, he is being stonewalled privately, and it must be terribly frustrating for him not to even be able to get through to his father on the phone.

"There's a real Catch-22 here: As long as the Palace ignores Harry in the vain hope that he'll go away, it puts him in the position of having to amp up the volume of his public comments."

During a recent interview with the BBC, which came after Harry lost his appeal to reinstate his security in the UK, the royal shared that he was not on speaking terms with his father.

Speaking to BBC interviewer Nada Tawfik, Harry said: "[My father] won't speak to me because of this security stuff".

During the interview, Harry also revealed that he will not bring his wife or children back to the UK due to his security fears.

He also had "so many disagreements" with his family, some of whom he claimed "may never forgive" him for releasing his bombshell memoir in 2023.

An insider recently told HELLO! that the BBC interview eroded the Royal Family's trust in the Duke of Sussex.

With the insider stating that the Royal Family has "zero trust" in him, adding that "the family feel that private conversations with Harry are not possible".
