The King is set for a busy few days ahead as the three-day French state visit begins today. The King, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, along with Prince William and Princess Kate, formally welcomed France's President, Emmanuel Macron, and his wife, Brigitte, to the UK.
The President and his wife will stay with the King and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle for the duration of the state visit. Their three-day UK stay will be made up of a number of engagements including state banquet, a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and a UK-France Summit.
While it is believed the King and Queen are excited to welcome the Macrons, some may question why this visit is taking place before US President Donald Trump's state visit.
So what do you think? Should Trump have been invited for a UK State Visit before Macron? Vote below or here.
It is believed the reason for this is due to the fact that the planning to host Macron was reportedly underway before the King even issued an invitation to Trump.
It is believed Trump will still visit the UK this year, with an official invitation, which is known as the Manu Regia, having been sent to the White House already.
This is a sign that official planning for the visit has begun, however dates and exact plans, such as where it will be held, have not yet been confirmed.
The letter sent to the White House was reportedly hand-signed by the King, who is believed to be good friends with Donald Trump and the First Lady.
The official invite comes after news that Trump would be returning to the UK for another state visit made headlines earlier this year when the UK Prime Minister handed Trump an invitation on behalf of the King.
Trump seemed delighted by the invite, and has always been vocal about his love for the Royal Family, especially the late Queen Elizabeth, who he once described as "incredible".
Speaking of King Charles, Trump once said: "I'm a friend of Charles, I have great respect for King Charles and the family, William, we have really just a great respect for the family."
