One island off the coast of Cornwall is a great location for a getaway at any time of the year, and you can even stay in holiday homes owned by the Royal family.
The Isles of Scilly are a group of over 200 islands and rocks located 28 miles from Cornwall, and have been part of the Duchy of Cornwall ever since its foundation in the beginning in the 14th century.
Of these 200 islands, just five are currently inhabited: St Mary's, Tresco, St Martin's, St Agnes, and Bryher.
The largest of these islands is St Mary's, which is where you will find four holiday rentals owned by the Duke of Cornwall, currently Prince William.
Of the island itself, the Visit Isle of Scilly website writes: "St. Mary's is a great place to get out and about and explore, whether you're here for just a few hours or indeed for a few days."
"From walking through elm tree woods, discovering our Bronze Age monuments, finding a sheltered cove for a wild swim or enjoying our talented artists, make sure you the most of St. Mary's."
As the gateway to the Isles of Scilly, from St Mary's you can also take trips to the other inhabited islands, and even some of those that are currently uninhabited.

Located just next door is the , which also sleeps four, so if you're holidaying with a bigger group you can book both of these properties.
Another cottage located within the historic garrison is , the former gun battery building.
One former guest was left blown away by this stunning property, writing: "We were so lucky to have the most perfect weather and sat every evening with a glass of wine watching the sun set, listening to the sound of the sea. Steval is the ultimate get away from it all holiday cottage - thoroughly recommend."
And the final Royal owned holiday cottage is , which sleeps eight. Tamarisk is also the newest of the Duchy of Cornwall properties on the island, with the Duchy's website stating: "Tamarisk is the new flagship addition to our Isles of Scilly collection, offering spacious and stunning accommodation."
