Forget £12.25 for a glass of Pimms. It's the price of water bottles at Wimbledon that is set to get fans raging. Or rather, it's the cost of a limited players' edition Evian water bottle that is being sold on the internet for an extortionate amount.
More than 500,000 tennis fans are expected to have gone through the gates at SW19 by Sunday night, despite the rising prices for merchandise, food, and drink. The cost of tickets has also come under scrutiny after some fans forked out more than £200 to watch Iga Swiatek win the women's singles final in under an hour.
However, the expense of being on Centre Court on Saturday was probably worth it compared to this 'unused' water bottle. On eBay, a seller has put it up for sale at an extortionate £180.
The bottle is described as "perfect for staying hydrated during intense matches on the court." It's called a "must-have for fans," despite a warning that it's not actually in perfect condition.

"Please note this bottle is sealed and unopened," read the message. "However, there a two minor dents on the handle and some scratches and marks on the bottle."
For potential buyers, a mere glance at the official Wimbledon website will suggest they are being coaxed into a rip-off. A limited-edition Evian refillable bottle is advertised at £25, which includes refills.
A large 750ml bottle of Evian water at Wimbledon costs 'just' £5. However, refills are complimentary with water fountains stationed throughout the grounds at SW19, while spectators can purchase a QR code for £5 to refill their own bottles throughout the day.
The clamour to stay hydrated has been heightened at the 2025 Championships amid the searing heat. Temperatures reached a high of 32.3 Celsius on Monday afternoon, surpassing the previous record of 29.3 Celsius.
