Whether you're a gaming beginner or a seasoned player, the excitement of upgrading to a new console is universal. However, many of the top consoles come with a hefty price tag, particularly when they're the latest models on the market.

That's why PlayStation fans are rushing to take advantage of Amazon's latest deal, where the has been reduced from £479.99 to £384.95, saving £95. There's also £100 off the , now £329.

A significant step up from the older PlayStation 4 model, the PS5 Slim supports both disc and digital games, allowing gamers to download new games or stick with physical copies. The Slim model is also sleek and more compact than its predecessor, measuring 10x5x1.3cm and weighing 5.08 kg.

It operates much faster and quieter than the PS4 and features an ultra-high speed SSD for quicker loading. It also boasts adaptive triggers, 3D Audio2 and a plethora of new games exclusive to PS5, while still supporting a backlog of PS4 games.

The PlayStation 5 Disc model is also currently on sale at for £389, saving £90. Those with a bigger budget can splash out on the new console, which Argos has reduced from £699.99 to £654.99.

Amazon customers have lauded the , which currently boasts more than 1,500 five-star ratings. One reviewer stated: "The PlayStation 5 Slim is a fantastic upgrade from the original PS4.

"It's sleeker, lighter, and more compact, making it easier to fit into any entertainment setup. The performance remains top-notch with fast load times and stunning graphics. The modular design, including a removable disc drive, adds great flexibility. While it's still a bit pricey, it's a worthwhile investment for any gamer looking to enhance their gaming experience."

Another said: "You immediately notice the difference between this and the PS4, particularly in loading times. The visual difference becomes more apparent when paired with a 4K TV/monitor. Also, the fan is quiet, only occasionally the disc drive can be loud when copying a game disc (which can be fixed, as far as I'm aware). Even so, if you are a gamer I'd get this. A clear improvement on its predecessor."

Another buyer pointed out some drawbacks, saying: "Everything works fine. The only problems are that the station doesn't come with stands or a charger for the controller. And for some reason, the doesn't have 1 TB. It instead has 825 GB like a standard PS5."

But another happy customer said: "As a pc player this console is great fun and has plenty of great exclusives that look amazing in 4k and perform fantastic they are definitely worth getting into."
