Portland Police Bureau on Monday released two photos of a Volvo car caught in a CCTV camera footage. They believed the its the car of the suspect/s who put explosives in a ballot drop box in southeast Portland, Oregon, early Monday morning. Portland police described the vehicle as a "black or dark-colored 2001-2004 Volvo S-60." "The vehicle does not have a front license plate, but it does have an unknown rear plate," Portland Police said in a press release later on Monday. Here's the photo:
The police statement further added: "Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or the case is asked to contact Detective Meredith Hopper at Meredith.Hopper@police.portlandoregon.gov or call the PF&R Fire Investigation Unit’s tip line, 503-823- FIRE (3473). Please reference case number 24-276181." Portland police reported that an early morning fire at a ballot drop box was swiftly extinguished due to an internal suppression system and the actions of a nearby security guard, with only three ballots sustaining damage. Incendiary devices had been attached to the outside of the boxes. At a news conference, authorities revealed that materials recovered from the devices indicated Monday's two fires were linked, as well as connected to an earlier October 8 incident in Vancouver, where an incendiary device was placed at another ballot drop box but caused no damage to ballots. A second fire was discovered at a ballot drop box at a transit center in Vancouver, across the Columbia River. Although this drop box also had a fire suppression system, it failed to prevent hundreds of ballots from being destroyed. Greg Kimsey, the elected auditor for Clark County, Washington. Kimsey advised voters who used the transit center drop box after 11 a.m. Saturday to contact his office for a replacement ballot.
