Patna: Three friends lost their lives while taking a bath in the Ganga river at the collectorate Ghat under Gandhi Maidan police station area in Patna on Friday evening. The victims were identified as Vinit Kumar (20) from Mandiri, Sonu Raj (19) from Ganga Colony Vihar of Digha, and Aditya Kumar (19) from Buddha Colony.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police personnel and the SDRF team arrived at the gaht, and after several hours of search operations, they recovered all the three bodies from the river.
According to the police, the three youths arrived at the collectorate Ghat together and spent some time conversing on the bank. Subsequently, they entered the river for swimming. Vinit ventured into the deeper waters, and while attempting to rescue him, both Sonu and Aditya also began to struggle. Despite some bystanders jumping into the Ganga to rescue them, they could not save the three youths who drowned in the river.
