Coimbatore: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay said every booth level agent of TVK should learn how to connect with people, instil confidence in them about the party and help lead it to a grand success in the 2026 assembly election.
Addressing TVK's booth-level agents' meeting held in a private college premises near Kurumbapalayam in Coimbatore district, Vijay said this was not just a meeting for votes. "What are we going to do after coming to power? We won't engage in the same politics as other political parties. We want to come to power for the people and their welfare. Apart from getting their votes, how we are going to connect with the people and how we are going to mingle with people will be discussed at the meeting," said Vijay.
He said many people have come and gone, lied, and cheated people, and captured power. "I am not coming for this, and I won't allow such things to happen hereafter," said Vijay.
"Every booth agent is equal to a soldier, and you are the person to instil trust in people about TVK. You should talk to people and tell them why we came into politics and what type of govt will be formed by TVK in the state," said Vijay.
TVK general secretary N Anand said more than 8,500 booth-level agents were participating in the meeting. "Booth-level agents should spend two hours in the morning daily and visit every resident in their locality and talk to them. They must listen to the problems faced by residents. They should create a WhatsApp group for their areas," said Anand. "They should work hard for the next 10 months and help people," said Anand.
He said TVK should get 1.20 lakh to 1.30 lakh votes in every assembly constituency for the 2026 assembly election. The booth agents should work hard to make Vijay the Tamil Nadu CM in the 2026 election, said Anand.
TVK's election campaign management general secretary Aadhav Arjuna said Tamil Nadu has 69,204 booths and 6.18 crore voters, and 2026 election will be a crucial one for TVK. "Thousands of youths are showing a great deal of interest in participating in the election, and the booth-level agents should work hard to get the maximum number of votes in their respective booth limits," he said.
