Jaisalmer: Jaisalmer police Saturday arrested two individuals, Bihar's Shanu Kumar and Uttar Pradesh's Smriti Jain from Delhi for posing as tourists in the border district but actually creating porn content and engaging in inappropriate behaviour with an elderly shepherd near Tanot.
After the offensive content appeared on their social media platform and spread widely, police swiftly registered a case at Tanot police station. Following an extensive pursuit, the duo was arrested in Delhi Saturday and brought to Jaisalmer, where they have been placed in judicial custody.
Jaisalmer SP Sudhir Chaudhary registered a case against the duo following the victim's son's complaint. The case was resolved through technical evidence and suspect identification, after which the police apprehended Shanu Kumar, son of Mukesh from Bihar, and Smriti Jain, daughter of Anil Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, in Delhi.
Post-interrogation, both were presented in court and remanded to judicial custody. Investigations revealed that the woman, a software engineer, collaborated with her partner to create inappropriate videos with strangers, monetising them through adult websites.
Two such recordings from Jaisalmer emerged recently. One recording, shared through a social media account connected to an adult website and distributed via WhatsApp groups, showed a young woman without clothes in her vehicle driving through streets. She provoked a 65-70-year-old man standing by the road by exposing herself and performing inappropriate acts, while her male associate recorded the incident. The elderly shepherd was also seen physically engaging with the woman.
