AAP youth wing leader abducted, assaulted, robbed

Ludhiana: Haibowal police have booked 11 individuals for abducting and assaulting Sonu Kalyan, the district youth president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to the victim, the accused hit him with the handle of a gun, abducted him in a car, and robbed him of his mobile phone and cash.

An FIR has been lodged based on the complaint of Sonu Kalyan of Gopal Nagar, Haibowal Kalan, against the accused, identified as Sharu Sharma, Kirat Ghuman, Aman Thakur, Rajveer Ghuman, Monu Sharma, Sukh Haibowalia, Sachin, alias Bacchi, Karamjeet Singh, Balwinder Singh, alias Babbu, Abhishek and Ricky Toor, who came in three different cars and a scooter.

The complainant stated that the accused are supporters of the Congress party and that their rivalry stemmed from this affiliation.

Additionally, about a year ago, he had an argument with a friend of the accused group. On October 9, he was outside his office waiting for a party worker, as they were planning to leave for Delhi, when the accused arrived.

ASI Ram Krishan from Haibowal police station said a case has been registered against the accused under the BNS and the Arms Act.
