Mangaluru: The silver jubilee celebrations of the Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust and Navodaya Self-Help Groups will be held at Goldfinch City, Bangra Kuloor, in the city on Saturday. Trust founder MN Rajendra Kumar said that chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme at 10am.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will distribute benefits to members of the Navodaya self-help groups, and Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar will release the souvenir, ‘Santhrupti', on the occasion. Meanwhile, Union minister for new and renewable energy Pralhad Joshi will distribute awards to Navodaya Self-Help Groups that presented excellent performance. Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader will hoist the cooperative flag, Kumar said.
Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade, Pejwar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha swamiji, cooperative minister KN Rajanna, former chief minister M Veerappa Moily, health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, women and child development minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, minister for textiles, sugarcane development & APMC Shivanand Patil, excise minister RB Timmapur and MPs Capt Brijesh Chowta and Kota Shrinivasa Poojary will attend.
