RAJKOT: The Gandhidham Cybercrime police have booked a man from Patan for allegedly creating a fake Instagram account and sending sexually explicit content to a married woman living in Kutch.

The 30-year-old woman had approached the Cybercrime police station on Sept 3, alleging that a man named Paba Patel was sending her obscene videos and pressuring her for friendship and marriage.

Disregarding her marital status, Patel started sending her messages expressing his liking for her. He suggested she live with him or marry him. Later, he posted a nude video on Instagram and sent obscene messages. He also claimed to know her father-in-law and husband, alleging the former's involvement in several love affairs in Gandhidham.

On Sept 1, the woman informed her husband about the messages and voice calls she received concerning him and his father. She continued receiving voice calls and messages, including nude videos.

The investigation confirmed that Paba Patel was behind the fake Instagram account, created to defame the woman and her family by sending obscene messages and making voice calls. He also subjected her to physical and mental harassment through vulgar videos and photos.
