Australia’s national carrier Qantas has launched its first-ever Qantas Explorer fare sale in India, in collaboration with Tourism Australia, to promote travel between the two countries.
The airline announced the campaign stating that the sale aims to encourage Indian travellers to explore a wider range of destinations across Australia.
As part of the offer, Qantas has released an additional two million discounted Qantas Explorer fares, available for booking from 27 October to 26 November. These fares are designed for passengers booking international flights from India with Qantas, providing access to more than 45 domestic destinations within Australia at up to 20 per cent off the base fare (excluding taxes and fees).
According to the airline, the Qantas Explorer program allows travellers to visit cities and regions beyond Sydney and Melbourne, such as the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and Kakadu National Park. Suggested itineraries are also available on the airline’s website to help plan multi-destination trips.
Nick McGlynn, Executive Vice President at Qantas, said the initiative would make travel between the two countries “easier and more affordable,” citing increasing demand for Australia-bound travel from India.
Tourism Australia’s country manager for India and the Gulf, Nishant Kashikar, described India as “a vital market for Australian tourism,” adding that the partnership aims to inspire visitors to “stay longer and explore more destinations.”
Qantas currently operates five weekly flights from Bengaluru to Sydney and three from Delhi to Melbourne. The airline said fares under the new offer can be booked through its website or via travel agents. All international Qantas fares include checked baggage, meals, and in-flight entertainment.
