NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants registered their second win of the Indian Premier League 2025 season with a spirited 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday.
The result propelled LSG to sixth in the IPL points table , leapfrogging MI, who dropped to seventh after suffering their third loss in four games. With this, six teams are now tied on four points, with Punjab Kings leading the standings thanks to a superior net run rate (NRR) of +1.485.

LSG’s win helped them improve their NRR to +0.048, while MI’s dropped slightly to +0.108.
Sent in to bat first, LSG posted a commanding 203/8, thanks to blazing half-centuries from openers Mitchell Marsh (60 off 31) and Aiden Markram (53 off 38). Despite a brilliant 5-wicket haul by MI skipper Hardik Pandya (5/36), his first in T20s, LSG managed to push past the 200-mark.
In response, MI fell short, ending at 191/5. Suryakumar Yadav waged a lone battle with a fighting 67 off 43 balls, but lacked support at the other end. LSG bowlers shared the spoils, with Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi, and Akash Deep taking a wicket each.
Rohit Sharma missed the match due to a knee injury sustained in practice.
